Domestic Violence and Family Law

The “Safety First in Family Law” is promoting the training of specialist domestic violence lawyers and stopping the cross examination of victims of violence by their perpetrators.

We recently had a case where our client , the victim of very serious domestic violence, which included sexual assault, was placed into the position of having to be cross examined by her ex partner who was the perpetrator of violence. The Judge in  that case was aware of the issues and gave our client the opportunity to leave the Court room and be cross examined via a video link.

The statistics of violence against women are horrifying , so far today police in Australia would have dealt with on average 240 Domestic  Violence Matters. That’s one every two minutes. The numbers are confronting.

At Cominos Family Lawyers, we deal with hundreds of cases that involve family and domestic violence. We understand that leaving a toxic and violent relationship is not easy and our clients receive the support, the knowledge and the right advice to assist them with their decision and to then see them through the family law process.

We have dealt with hundreds of cases involving domestic and family violence and we have successfully represented our client in Court, providing peace of mind and support to them.

We are specialised family lawyers who deal with family and domestic violence matters , we have experience in parenting and child custody matters and property matters.
